Week 11 Fantasy Football Start/Sit

Week 11 is here and your fantasy playoffs are only a few weeks away so each matchup is becoming more and more important! Shane and Matt are here to help you grab those playoff spots by helping you with this week's start/sit. This week, @FFShaneB gives you his weekly starts and @MattFFDynasty gives you his sits and the players you should at least be tempering expectations on as we head into Week 11

Teams on their bye week:

  • Chicago Bears

  • San Francisco 49ers

  • New York Giants

  • Buffalo Bills

Quarterback

Starts

Start Of The Week

Justin Herber (LAC) @ NYJ

OMG GIVE ME THIS MATCHUP MORE!!! The Jets Suck, Herbert is good this could get ugly quick. Herbert has been good against all defenses, so him facing a bad defense has me salivating at the mouth. AND Ekeler is possibly back, so even more firepower for Herbert to work with. Start him and don’t blink.

Alex Smith (WAS) Vs CIN

The WFT play Cincinnati and Alex Smith can finally get on his comeback player of the year tour. Cincinnati is bad on defense and has struggled against QBs all year. Smith and the WFT are still miraculously in the playoff hunt, so will be looking to win this game and keep that alive.

Cam Newton (NE) @ HOU

Houston is bad because Bill O'Brien traded everyone worth a darn away. SHOCKER! Their secondary has been struggling for years. I think Cam will have a decent game this week and will be worth a start especially in superflex leagues.

Sits

Sit Of The Week

Ryan Tannehill (TEN) @ BAL

Tannehill had a quiet Week 10 against the Colts, throwing for only 147 yards and 1 TD, and things don't get much easier for him in Week 11. The Titans travel to Baltimore to face the Ravens who again have a strong defense for 2020, and are ranked the 9th best defense against opposing QBs and allowing only 17.8 FPPG to the position. I can see the Titans leaning on Derrick Henry once again in what is likely to be a close, low scoring game.

Tom Brady (TB) Vs LAR

Brady bounced back last week against the Panthers following his poor performance in Week 9 against the Saints. This week looks to be another tough matchup against the Rams though, who are the 7th best fantasy D/ST so far this season and only allowing 15.5 FPPG to the QB position. Brady could be in for a long night on MNF!

Derek Carr (LV) Vs KC

Despite being a very servisable QB this season, Derek Carr struggled last week against the Broncos and he now has to try and keep up with the high-powered Chiefs offense. The problem with that is the Chiefs have been really strong against the pass this season. The Raiders are likely going to have to lean on their star RB Josh Jacobs to wind down the clock and try to keep this Cheifs offense on the field for as little amount of time as possible.

Running Back

Starts

Start Of The Week

Mike Davis (CAR) Vs DET

Christian McCaffrey has been ruled out..again. Detroit SUCKS against the run and Davis has been a serviceable back all year in place of McCaffrey. Fire up Davis knowing he is facing a terrible rush defense.

D'Andre Swift (DET) @ CAR

This game has me drooling at the potential for running backs. Carolina is just as bad as Detroit against fantasy running backs. Swift has looked better and better as the year has gone on and should be able to build upon a strong rookie year! Start him and don’t turn back!

Clyde Edwards-Helaire (KC) @ LV

My precious Clydesdale has a juicy matchup this week. Vegas has been a bad defense against running backs and the rookie running back should be in all lineups no question this week. He has been the RB 12 in PPR and will continue to give you those numbers this week FRESH OFF A BYE WEEK. Hopefully Andy Reid unleashes the bowling ball with hands on this defense.

Sits

Sit Of The Week

James Robinson (JAX) Vs PIT

He may be an UDFA but James Robinson is currently the RB4 this season! He's coming off a 100+ yard game against the Packers, however, this week he is up against the 3rd strongest defense against opposing RBs, who are only allowing 16.3 FPPG to the position. With fellow rookie Jake Luton being the confirmed starter on Sunday, the Jags may rely on Robinson again but he's got his work cut out for him this week.

Ronald Jones (TB) Vs LAR

What a game Ronald Jones had in Week 10! 23 carries for 192 yards and a TD which came on a 98 yard run from one endzone to the other. However, if owners are expecting that kind of performance again this week, they are likely going to be disappointed. He's facing the Rams who have been fairly strong against the RB, especially compared to the porous Panthers run defense (5th weakest) that he ran all over last week. Plus the fact that fellow RB Leonard Fournette is constantly a thorn in his side, I can't start 'ROJO' with confidence this week.

Todd Gurley (ATL) @ NO

It may not have been pretty, but Todd Gurley is currently the RB11. However, this week he has a really tough matchup against the Saints, who are a Top 5 run defense and its not like he's been super productive with his touches. He's averaged 20 carries a game yet only averaging 2.7 yards on each of those carries, and they've been against 4 'easy' matchups. TDs are saving him this season, and he's going to have to find the endzone once again this week to give you a respectable performance.

Wide Receiver

Starts

Start Of The Week

Justin Jefferson (MIN) Vs DAL

Oh for the love of Jesus start Justin Jefferson. Dallas sucks. They can’t stop the run, they can’t stop the pass, and they can’t rush the passer. This means Cook is gonna run all over them and just to keep them on their toes Kirk Cousins will have all day to throw to Justin Jefferson. Fire up the rookie and enjoy!

Chase Claypool (PIT) @ JAX

Jacksonville has a young defense. They played well against the Packers last week and could play well against the Steelers, but like the Packers game I expect them to eventually wear down and Pittsburgh to prevail. Claypool has 9 TDs in 9 games. This means he has a high likelihood to score against a subpar defense this week. He is also just good and needs to be in your lineup.

Christian Kirk (ARI) @ SEA

Kirk is playing Seattle. If Seattle is smart they will double and triple cover (which still won’t matter) DeAndre Hopkins. This means that Kirk should be able to carve up their terrible defense. Kirk is an automatic start with how bad Seattle’s defense has been even if they don’t swarm Hopkins. This should be a high scoring fun game!

Sits

Sit Of The Week

Mike Evans (TB) Vs LAR

Evans had one of his best performances of the year in Week 10 against the Panthers with 6 catches for 77 yards and a TD, but that was against the Panthers and this week he has the 'luxury' of facing one of the best CBs in the league in Jalen Ramsey. Ramsey just shutout one of the star WRs of the season in D.K Metcalf in Week 10, only allowing him 2 receptions for 28 yards! Good luck in this one Mike, you're going to need it!

Will Fuller (HOU) Vs NE

It's been great seeing Fuller stay healthy and show us just what he can do with the talent he has when on the field, but this weeks matchup isn't great for Fuller. The Patriots are only allowing an average of 27.3 FPPG to opposing WRs (9th best) and with their star CB Stephon Gilmore expected back this week, I'm not confident in Fuller having a strong week in Week 11.

DeVante Parker (MIA) @ DEN

Parker had a quiet Week 10 against the Chargers but he now get's what should be a good matchup against the Broncos. However, I'd temper expectations with his this week. As good as Tua Tagovailoa has been since taking over, Parker production has taken a knock as Tua isn't slinging the rock about as much as Ryan Fitzpatrick did when the starter. That, paired with the fact that opposing QB Drew Lock has struggled recently and therefore the Dolphins wont need to rely on Parker as much, puts me off him slightly this week.

Tight End

Starts

Start Of The Week

Hayden Hurst (ATL) @ NO

An NFC South Battle where the Falcons seem to be reenergized by a new culture and coaching. Hurst has a good matchup against the Saints this week and should be able to continue to produce how he has been lately. The trade is looking to be working out for ATL now with Hurst.

Hunter Henry (LAC) Vs NYJ

The Jets suck. Henry should have a good game against this poor defense with his stellar QB Herbert. Get him in your lineup an rock and roll.

Austin Hooper (CLE) Vs PHI

This one scares me. Baker has played okay but the weather has been crap for their last two games. Hooper has yet to have a big game with Cleveland. Is this the breakout for him? Potentially because the Eagles also suck.

Sits

Sit Of The Week

Darren Waller (LV) Vs KC

Yes, Waller is the TE2 this season, and yes, you aren't sitting him considering how much of a wasteland the TE position has been this season... This is more a warning to temper expectations on him this week. He's coming off a quiet game against the Broncos in Week 10, he's averages only 29 yards per game the last 3 weeks, and now faces the Chiefs who are only allowing 7.9 FPPG to opposing TEs (8th best). As mentioned, don't sit Waller, just don't expect one of his big weeks this week.

Jonnu Smith (TEN) @ BAL

Jonnu Smith has been a huge disappointment this season for his owners, yet he is still the TE4! That just shows what a mess the position has been this season. Here are his combined stats over the last 5 weeks... 8/97/1 and last week he saved his owners day with a 1 yard rushing TD. There aren't many options at TE so you are probably forced to start Smith, just don't expect much. Pray that he scores a TD and he might be a Top 5 TE just with the TD alone!

Jared Cook (NO) Vs ATL

Since Michael Thomas returned 2 weeks ago, Cook has disappeared and only recorded 2 catches for 30 yards. Is it a coincidence? possibly, but I'm not relying on Cook being a reliable fantasy TE until he shows me something with MT back. This game could be favourable against the weak Falcons pass defense, but with QB Drew Brees out, I'd want to see who Jameis Winston favours first before putting Cook in my lineups.

Defense

Starts

Start Of The Week

Pittsburgh Steelers @ JAX

Umm poor Jake Luton. Pittsburgh is one of two defenses that I do not want to see right now. They are nasty, and get after the QB. Their D line is ridiculous and allows everyone else to play well.

Philadelphia Eagles @ CLE

L.A Rams @ TB

Sits

Sit Of The Week

Washington Football Team Vs CIN

Washington have been a fairly solid fantasy defense this season, however, opposing QB Joe Burrow and the Bengals are one of the most pass heavy offenses in the league. Burrow ranks 2nd in attempts and he's looked every bit the QB the Bengals hoped he would be when taking him with the no.1 pick in the NFL draft. I'm sitting Washington this week and streaming one of Shane's starts instead if I can.

Indianapolis Colts Vs GB

Seattle Seahawks Vs ARI

New England Patriots @ HOU
