Week 14 Waiver Stargazing

It's Week 14 and the end of the fantasy season is fast approaching, but we've reached the crucial part of the season now. In most leagues it will be the final week before your fantasy playoffs and with 4 NFL teams on their bye, this week's waiver wire could be vital to help you secure that final playoff spot. So @K_H_Ray, @ZTwiceFF & @MattFFDynasty are here to help and have found you some potential targets to help make that final push.

Waiver Target

Waiver Target of The Week

Russell Gage | WR | ATL (18.5% Rostership - 7% FAAB Recommendation) (@K_H_RAY)

I get that it's the Falcons. I get that Matt Ryan has been playing poorly as of late. And I get he's put up a bagel or two this season. But Russell Gage has at least 5 catches and 50 yards in the past 3 games. His latest outing against the Bucs was his best game by far with 12 targets, 11 receptions, and 130 yards. This guy should absolutely be on fantasy rosters in more than 50% of leagues.

Tayson Hill | QB | NO (5.2% Rostership - 7% FAAB Recommendation) (@ZTwiceFF)

I wrote about him last week and will do so again this week. Taysom Hill is not a great NFL QB but he is great for fantasy. He threw 4 interceptions last week and still scored 24 fantasy points! His rushing upside is immense and nearly unmatched at the QB position. He's available in many leagues and if he performs like last year when started, we could have a league winner on our hands.

Dontrell Hilliard | RB | CLE (17.2% Rostership - 5% FAAB Recommendation) (@K_H_RAY)

Since Derrick Henry's injury in Week 8, it has been hard to figure out what exactly is going on with the Titans backfield. It seems that Vrabel and the gang have been trying out different combinations. Dontrell Hilliard has come on the scene to compliment D'Onta Foreman in the backfield and in two games has 28 total touches, a 100-yard rushing performance, and has proven to be a reliable pass catcher. He is still splitting time, and D'Onta is available in many leagues as well, so it could be a pick your poison situation. Fantasy managers that need one more big swing to make the playoffs could look to Hilliard for just that. You could do worse than a hot RB facing the Jaguars this week.

Ricky Seals-Jones | TE | WAS (1.1% Rostership - 3% FAAB Recommendation) (@MattFFDynasty)

As of writing this, we don't know the full extent of fellow TE Logan Thomas' injury. It's thought he has avoided an ACL tear but I'd still anticipate him missing some time, so with that, Ricky Seals-Jones (who should be back from injury himself this week) could be a key target on your waiver wire. In the 5 full games RSJ played when Thomas missed time earlier in the season, he had 30 targets which he turned into 19 receptions for 181 yards and 1 TD. Then if we look at WAS remaining schedule, there isn't a better TE schedule, DAL x2 and PHI x2 who have both had their struggles vs the TE position this season.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling | WR | GB (7.7% Rostership - 3% FAAB Recommendation) (@MattFFDynasty)

Coming off his bye week, MVS could be a great dart throw if you are looking for someone with big play ability. He's caught the eye of QB Aaron Rodgers lately and has 19 targets during his last 2 games. He may have only turned them into 8 receptions but he's racked up 173 yards and a TD. He leads the league in aDOT (Average depth of target) at 18.5 yards so big splash plays are always a possibility with MVS and he has a good matchup this week vs CHI.

KJ Osborn | WR | MIN (1.5% Rostership - 2% FAAB Recommendation) (@ZTwiceFF)

With Adam Thielen likely out for a couple week with a sprained ankle, Osborn is the next man up in this Vikings offense. He performed very well last week, playing 92% of the snaps, catching 4 of 7 targets for 47 yards and a TD. Osborn is a reliable flex play this week and is worth a pickup. I will also mention Tyler Conklin as a great streamer this week with a likely uptick in targets as well.
