Week 2 Fantasy Football Start/Sit

After all the excitement of Week 1 over and done with, it's time to look forward to Week 2 and breakdown which players you should be adding to your lineup and which you should be concerned about with there upcoming matchups. This week, @MattFFDynasty gives you his weekly starts and @FFShaneB gives you his sits.

Start Of The Week

Dak Prescott (DAL) Vs ATL

Prescott struggled Week 1 against a very solid LA Rams secondary but now in his Week 2 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons, who were just in a shootout against the Seahawks and allowed Russell Wilson to throw for 322 yards and 4 TDs. Dak and his high powered offense should be able to follow suit and put up bounce-back performance.

Tom Brady (TB) Vs CAR

Like Prescott, Brady had his struggles in Week 1, but he now takes on a very weak Carolina Panthers defense. WR Mike Evans struggled against CB Lattimore against the Saints, but he faces no such problem Week 2. I expect Brady to have a much easier time this week.

Josh Allen (BUF) @ MIA

What a start to the season for Josh Allen! While he still showed his accuracy issues in Week 1, that didn't stop him from posting his first 300 yard game in his career. While also adding 57 rushing yards and 2 rushing TDs. He now plays the Miami Dolphins who just allowed Patriots QB Cam Newton to score 2 rushing TDs. I'm expecting another big game for Allen with his rushing upside.

Sit Of The Week

Baker Mayfield (CLE) Vs CIN

Mayfield is playing against division rival Cincinnati. I have been burned by him too often and Week 1 continued that trend. For me, this is a prove-it game for Mayfield and until he does I am not starting him. Cincinnati held what many thought to be an explosive Chargers offense to just 16 points.

Sam Darnold (NYJ) Vs SF

Could anybody have a more difficult start than Darnold when it comes to matchups? First, he plays the Bills and loses Le’veon Bell to injury. Now he has to face the 49ers tough defense in Week 2?? Bench him this week and hopefully he can turn it around after this week too.

Ryan Fitzpatrick (MIA) Vs BUF

Miami plays Buffalo this week and their defense is good. They held the Jets to 17 points last week but they scored a TD in the last minute and they did not look that good. Devante Parker is also dealing with a hamstring so Fitz loses a weapon.

Running Back

Start Of The Week

Joe Mixon (CIN) @ CLE

Mixon had an underwhelming Week 1 performance where he only scored 6.1 PPR points. However, he now gets an immediate chance to bounce back against a Cleveland Browns defense that allowed rookie RB JK Dobbins to score 2 rushing TDs. Mixon's 19 carries in week 1 were a positive but I also expect an increase in receptions going forward.

Ronald Jones (TB) Vs CAR

Many were worried about the Fournette signing in Tampa Bay, but Ronald Jones looked by far the best RB in that offense against a tough Saints defense. He now gets a great matchup against the Panthers who just allowed Raiders RB Josh Jacobs to score 3 TDs, 2 of which he went in without a glove been laid on him. Jones has a great opportunity to cement his role as the lead back in Tampa Bay.

Raheem Mostert (SF) @ NYJ

Mostert began the season with a big week, but the surprise was that he had his highest target total while been with the 49ers against the Cardinals while also having 15 rushing attempts. We all know how explosive Mostert is with his electric speed. He will be looking to carry that opportunity through into week 2.

Sit Of The Week

David Johnson (HOU) Vs BAL

David Johnson had a good week 1 making many believe HE IS BACK. While he may be back, I suggest you sit him because he facing the Ravens D. The Ravens are good all around on defense as usual and held Nick Chubb to just 60 yards.

James Robinson (JAX) @ TEN

The Jags won!! But this week they play the Titans, and that defense is for real. Their line got better with the signing of Clowney and they held the Broncos to 14 points last week. I do not believe that the Jags will be able to run for very much on this defense so sit James Robinson.

Melvin Gordon (DEN) @ PIT

The Steelers defense, especially their defensive line, is NO JOKE. They held Saquon Barkley to SINGLE DIGIT rushing yards. Barkley is loads better than Gordon, and while the Broncos O line is probably better than the Giants, I am sitting Gordon this week.

Wide Receiver

Start Of The Week

Calvin Ridley (ATL) @ DAL

Ridley had a huge Week 1 performance putting up 130 yards and 2 TDs against a highly respected Seahawks defense. He now faces the Cowboys in what I expect to be another shootout game. I feel Ridley can carry on that hot start this week. While I also like fellow WR Julio Jones, Ridley seems to be more reliable for TDs.

A.J Green (CIN) @ CLE

AJ Green looked good with his new rookie QB Joe Burrow. They seem to have found an immediate connection with Green being Burrow’s top target with 9 targets for 5 receptions and 51 yards. His day could have been much better were it not for a very soft OPI on a catch that could have won the Bengals the game. Now facing a Browns defense that just got torched by Marquise Brown, I expect a big game from Green.

Keenan Allen (LAC) Vs KC

Keenan Allen had a poor day to start the season but in Week 2 the Chargers face the Chiefs in a game where they are going to have to throw the ball a lot to keep up with that high powered Chiefs offense. I expect Allen to be utilized much more to try and keep in the game.

Sit Of The Week

Preston Williams (MIA) Vs BUF

Preston Williams has a tough matchup against Tre'Davious White if Devante Parker is out. Even if Parker is not, with the hamstring he could be limited, putting White on Williams. Williams' size could be an advantage, but I do not see him having a good day this week.

Will Fuller (HOU) VS BAL

Fuller had a great week 1 and has the potential to be a WR1 all year, but he also has a tough matchup this week with Stephon Gillmore. Gillmore kept Parker and Williams pretty quiet and I do not see Fuller succeeding against him.

D.J. Chark (JAX) @ TEN

Chark had a rough week one for someone with WR1 production potential. His team has a tough matchup this week and I foresee him struggling again.

Tight End

Start Of The Week

Jared Cook (NO) @ LV

Jared Cook made a strong start to his season with an impressive 5 receptions for 80 yards. He now faces the Raiders in Week 2 where Saints star WR Michael Thomas could be an injury concern and possibly miss time. If so, Cook could be in line for an even larger target share against a below-average Raider defense.

Tyler Higbee (LAR) @ PHI

Higbee may have had a quiet Week 1 but the plus is that he easily out-snapped fellow TE Gerald Everett and looks to be the sure-fire TE1 for the Rams. Now, coming up against the Eagles, Higbee has an ideal opportunity to get back to the performances he was putting up at the end of the 2019 season.

O.J Howard (TB) Vs CAR

Many thought that with Rob Gronkowski teaming back up with QB Tom Brady that he would be Tampa Bay's lead TE. However, it was OJ Howard that ended up being his favorite TE options while also scoring a TD. We all know how much Brady likes to utilize his TE so Howard will be hoping that connection continues to grow against the Panthers.

Sit Of The Week

Austin Hooper (CLE) Vs CIN

Another case of PROVE IT. The Browns signed Hooper to be the highest-paid TE. And then he only had 2 catches on 2 targets. I am not starting him if I do not have to until he also proves it to me with his QB.

Greg Olsen (SEA) Vs NE

Olsen faces a tough matchup in the Patriots as well. This team limited Gesicki, who is younger and more athletic, to 6 points. Unless Olsen catches a TD I do not feel like he will beat that.

Start Of The Week

Buffalo Bills @ MIA

The Bills absolutely dominated the Jets and Sam Darnold in their Week 1 matchup, now they get another offense that struggled Week 1 in the Miami Dolphins, where QB Ryan Fitzpatrick threw 3 INTs against the Patriots. I expect Tre’Davious White and crew to cause Fitzmagic problems again and put up another strong showing in Week 2.

San Francisco 49ers @NYJ

Pittsburgh Steelers Vs DEN

Tennessee Titans Vs JAX

Baltimore Ravens @ HOU

Sit Of The Week

LA Chargers Vs KC

Normally the Chargers are a stout defense and one I would be starting every week. However, they have the reigning Super Bowl champs who do not look like they missed a beat in the offseason. The Chiefs also added a RB who completes their offense.

Las Vegas Raiders Vs NO

Washington Football Team @ ARI

Houston Texans Vs BAL
