Week 4 Fantasy Football Start/Sit

As we prepare for Week 4, Start/Sit decisions are starting to become even more important as we either look to turn our fantasy season around after a slow start or keep our foot on the gas to pull away from the chasing pack. So let us help you with those tough decisions as @MattFFDynasty gives you his weekly starts and @FFShaneB gives you his advice on who you should be looking to sit this week.

Quarterback

Starts

Start Of The Week

Aaron Rodgers (GB) Vs ATL

Coming off another great game against the Saints in Week 3, Rodgers now gets to play the defense giving up the most fantasy points to the QB position (36.8) in the Atlanta Falcons. Rodgers ranks 6th in passing yards (887 yards) through the first 3 weeks and I’m expecting a shoot-out in this one, so Rodgers is an easy start for me this week.

Deshaun Watson (HOU) Vs MIN

Watson has had an unspectacular start to the season, but he now gets the chance for a bounce back against the Vikings, who just allowed Titans QB Ryan Tannehill to throw for 321 yards, in Week 4. With his rushing upside, I think Watson should be in line for a solid performance.

Ryan Fitzpatrick (MIA) Vs SEA

We are all excited to see Rookie QB Tua Tagovailoa, but Ryan Fitzpatrick is doing a great job as the starter right now. Coming off 2 games where he put up just under 30 fantasy points, Fitzpatrick now faces the Seattle defense that give up an average of 30.7 FPPG. In what's likely another shootout game, I think Fitzpatrick is a great underrated start this week.

Sits

Sit Of The Week

Carson Wentz (PHI) @ SF

Carson Wentz has looked bad this year. He is leading the league in interceptions with 6, his O line and receiving corp are banged up and he is facing a TOUGH defense this week in San Fran. Sit him so that you don’t have to cry when he keeps leading the league in interceptions.

Baker Mayfield (CLE) @ DAL

I know Dallas has a terrible secondary. I know Baker has looked pretty good the last two weeks. But, this feels like a trap game and I am sitting Baker personally. He may light it up against the DAL secondary like everyone else, but I do not trust him on this one just yet.

Derek Carr (LV) Vs BUF

l would sit Derek Carr this week. Buffalo’s defense has been nasty for the most part and Carr is going to be missing Ruggs and possibly Bryan Edwards. Leaving his pass catchers as Waller, Renfrow and Jacobs.

Running Back

Starts

Start Of The Week

Kenyan Drake (ARI) @ CAR

This is the Kenyan Drake blow-up game! Drake has made a slow start to the season despite been heavily involved averaging 20 touches per game so far. He now faces the Panthers defense who are giving up a massive average of 40.1 FPPG and allowed Austin Ekeler to gain 143 yards from scrimmage in Week 3. This has to be the week for Drake!

James Robinson (JAX) @ CIN

James Robinson is starting to look like a legitimate RB1 this season, and is currently the RB5 through 3 weeks. So far he has handled 91% of the Jags RB carries and now faces a poor Bengals defense. Week 4 should be another good week for Robinson.

Austin Ekeler (LAC) @ TB

As mentioned earlier, Ekeler had 123 yards from scrimmage in Week 3, and now faces a Buccaneers defense who are a middle of the road defense but could cause problems for Chargers rookie QB Justin Herbert. I expect the Chargers to lean on their RBs and use Ekeler plenty again in the passing game.

Sits

Sit Of The Week

Nick Chubb (CLE) @ DAL

Dallas has been very good against the run this year despite all of their inefficiencies in the pass game on defense. I also think that the game script could be very bad for Cleveland, attempting to come back against this potent Dallas offense, so insert Kareem Hunt = exit Nick Chubb.

Josh Jacobs (LV) Vs BUF

Jacobs is playing Buffalo (shocker) and they have only given up one 100 yard rush game and that was to Darrell Henderson last week. I expect the Las Vegas offense to struggle this week against Buffalo and leave a more negative game script for Jacobs. If he is involved in the pass game he may be able to salvage his fantasy usage, but if you have other options I might sit Jacobs.

Myles Gaskin (MIA) Vs SEA

Seattle has recreated the Legion of Boom... in the running game. They’re secondary coverage has not been great, but Jamal Adams has made his presence known in the run game, so you should sit Myles Gaskin this week. He may get some receiving work because I expect them to be down early and often, but I do not think that will salvage a start from him.

Wide Receiver

Starts

Start Of The Week

Tyler Lockett (SEA) @ MIA

Lockett is coming off a huge game against the Cowboys where he had 100 yards and 3 TDs. Week 4 he has a great opportunity to carry on that form against a Dolphins defense that is giving up an average of 33.2 FPPG. Whilst Wilson is allowed to cook, Lockett is going to sizzle!

Will Fuller (HOU) Vs MIN

I mentioned Texans QB Deshaun Watson as a start, so I am happy to have his WR1 as a start this week too. The Vikings just allowed relatively unknown speedy WR Kalif Raymond to gain 118 yards on 3 targets and now Fuller gets his chance. The Vikings are allowing 39.4 FPPG so far to opposing WRs and this is a great opportunity for Fuller to have a blowup game.

Devante Parker (MIA) Vs SEA

Parker is having a steady start to the season but now gets to face the Seahawks who are giving up the most points on average to opposing WRs in the whole NFL (60.6!). Fitzpatrick is likely going to have to sling it this week to keep up with opposing QB Rusell Wilson, so Parker should see plenty of opportunity this week.

Sits

Sit Of The Week

DJ Moore (CAR) Vs ARI

DJ Moore will most likely be getting the Patrick Peterson treatment this week. Peterson is a lock down corner who will continue to limit DJM’s success this week. Avoid him this week if you can and try to start Robby Anderson or Curtis Samuel instead.

Darius Slayton (NYG) @ LAR

Slayton is listed as the WR1 on the Giants depth chart. Because of this, I expect him to get the Jalen Ramsey treatment. Which means a total physical and mental breakdown because Ramsey is one of the best corners in the league...and one of the best trash talkers. Do not expect a great day from Slayton. His time is coming though.

AJ Green (CIN) Vs JAX

Jacksonville’s defense isn't what scares me. It’s Cincinnati’s team direction. I think the Tee Higgins era might be starting which means he is going to replace AJG pretty soon. Higgins led the team in snap percentage last week and AJG and John Ross suffered because of it. And then Higgins had 2 TDs, so I would be very weary of starting Green this week.

Tight End

Starts

Start Of The Week

T.J Hockenson (DET) @ NO

Hockenson has done great in the absence of Detroit's star WR Kenny Golladay, but even when he returned last week, Hockenson still put up very respectable numbers. Detroit now face a strong Saints defense that have contained most opposing positions apart from the TE position where they are giving up a league high in FPPG (22.4). If Hockenson can keep averaging over 5 targets a game he should be a solid option in Week 4.

Eric Ebron (PIT) @ TEN

Ebron has made a slow start but bounced back in Week 3 with 52 yards and a TD. With WR Diontae Johnson potentially missing time due to injury, Ebron could become a top target for QB Big Ben against the Titans who haven't been strong against the position so far this season.

Logan Thomas (WAS) Vs BAL

Thomas is becoming one of QB Dwayne Haskins’ favorite targets this season, averaging 8 targets per game. While his yardage isn't spectacular, he is a constant threat in the Redzone. The Ravens are a strong defense so I expect Haskins to lean on one of his favourite short yardage targets, Thomas, in Week 4.

Sits

Sit Of The Week

Mike Gesicki (MIA) Vs SEA

Gesicki has a tough matchup for Tight Ends. They are ranked 4th against the tight end according to sleeper and he will probably get matched up 1 on 1 with Jamal Adams. Avoid Gesicki this week if you can!

Tyler Higbee (LAR) Vs NYG

Higbee is going against the Giants. The only thing the Giants can stop is Tight Ends as they are ranked 7th against that position. I might be weary of him this week especially with all of the other options on that offense.

Austin Hooper (CLE) @ DAL

This dude is the highest paid Tight End in football why? He hasn't had more than roughly 4 targets or 30 yards in a game. In redraft, you can cut him. In dynasty don’t start him unless you have to. He needs to earn it for me at this point.

Defense

Starts

Start Of The Week

San Francisco 49ers Vs PHI

While the 49ers are struggling with injury, they are still dangerous and facing an Eagles offense that are in all kinds of trouble. QB Carson Wentz has struggled with many of his WRs being injured, but also his O-line is a mess and allowing pressure constantly. With that in mind, I think this strong 49ers defense should have another top week.

Baltimore Ravens @ WAS

Indianapolis Colts Vs CHI

L.A Rams Vs NYG

L.A Chargers @ TB

Sits

Sit Of The Week

Miami Dolphins Vs SEA

Russell Wilson. MVP. That is really all I need to say at this point, but I’ll say more. Miami’s defense is pretty young and not good. Wilson has been tearing it up and I expect him to continue to do so. If he continues to perform at this level we may as well give him the MVP and I think Miami will be the next to suffer his unliiiiiimmmmiiiited wrath.

Cleveland Browns @ DAL

Atlanta Falcons @ GB

Detroit Lions Vs NO
